Parents who wish to teach their teens to drive must register with TDL&R, order a packet for $20, and undergo a criminal and driving record check to determine if they qualify to be the instructor.  Please order packet asap after registering for the course. To be eligible Individuals must: 1.Have held a valid driver license for the past three years 2. Have not had his/her driver license suspended, revoked or forfeited in the past three years 3. Have less than six points on his/her driver record 4. Have never been convicted of or received a probated sentence for DWI, DUI or Criminally Negligent Homicide 5. Not be disabled due to mental illness
